Style: Weizenbock
ABV: 7%
Origin: Ayinger, Germany.
Appearance: Typical golden and cloudy weissbier. The head dissipates quickly, leaving little lacing, even with an aggressive pour. Smell: Bananas, bready yeast and alcoholic fumes. Taste: Alcohol is present, but subtle. Very spicy yeast and wheat with hints of banana-bread and cloves. A sour finish; similar to many Belgian Tripels.
Mouth-Feel: Medium bodied, highly carbonated. Crisp finish and slightly dry.
Overall: Not one of my personal favorite styles, but a perfect representation of its style. If weissbiers, weizenbocks, or even Belgian tripels are among your favorite styles, I'd definitely recommend this one.
Expect to pay close to four U.S. dollars for a single 500 ml bottle.
