Poured a bright golden color with a slightly off-white head that settled quickly. A spicey hop smell that makes you think "pilsner," but also has bread-like aroma. (Couldn’t wait to taste this one!) Large malty flavor, but a little more hop presence than I was expecting. Not too much, just a little more than most Märzens. A very nice touch. That buttery smell works right into the palate as well with a good, long aftertaste. Medium bodied. Carbonation is there, but soft. Reminds me of beers I’ve had from nitro cans. No dryness to speak of, just sticky sweetness. Lovely! There is absolutely no mistaking this is a Märzen, but interestingly different because of the up-front hops. Maybe not my first choice in an Oktoberfest lager, but definitely worth having.
